Rough around the edges but mostly there. This first year RS has great patina but has some scratches on the top of the tank. The pin-striping still looks good though and hallelujah the side covers are both there. There are plenty with higher miles that are twice the price. Worth looking at. Presumed to be a rollover on the ODO of 100k miles but its ready for more. Paint looks very clean for 100k so either it’s been repainted, great color btw, or the mileage is wrong. Do a compression check with the carbs off and see how it does and check shifting and for any wobbles at speed. For sale in the Denver area on Craigslist.
Old GS for sale in Santa Cruz on eBay. Looks complete and original other than the upgraded seat and brake caliper which is nice as these bikes don’t have the best brakes. It’s right about time to check on the heads for a rebuild and transmission. Would be nice to get some maintenance info from the seller. 5 days to go!

From the ad, owner is selling a very nice condition BMW motorcycle and sidecar rig. This is a 1983 R80RT drive unit with a rebuilt engine, a newer rebuilt rear drive that has a disc brake for better stopping power, new clutch assembly, heavier duty front fork springs and spacers, and a rebuilt 5 speed transmission. Never have I ever, seen someone put a shift assist on an airhead, I’m surprised it works the are so clunky! This thing seems cheap, make sure the heads have been gone through and trans will need a rebuild in the future as well. Paint looks great! For sale in Washington on Craigslist.
Low miles and a great color on this RT. The 800’s are a bit smoother than the 1000cc bikes. All the right maintenance done, from the ad; Drive splines serviced with Moly Lube, fresh rear diff oil (also Moly) and fresh gearbox oil change.
