Low miles and beautiful paint on this vintage BMW R100RT. Later Mono lever which is lighter than the old twin shocks although you lose the rear disc brake. This one has really low miles and has a lot of touring left in it. Give it the usual airhead tune up and take it to Alaska! For sale in Sonoma CA on Craigslist.
1971 BMW R60/5 - $6,300
Lovely toaster just popped up in the peninsula on Craigslist. From the ad, This beautiful R60/5 is in great running condition and has gone through recent maintenance to make sure it’s a reliable rider. Had the carbs cleaned and assembled with new gaskets, new plugs, valve adjustment, driveshaft checked and greased, all fluids changed, brakes checked and adjusted, and fresh tires put on. Has a nice toaster tank that comes with a bra to protect the paint and finish. Starts with electric starter and kick starter. Light control switches on the handlebars are a little finicky and will need some work but that’s about the only con. Frame and rear fender were painted a couple years ago and the engine had a rebuild about 10,000 miles ago.
1978 BMW R100RS - $6,000
High miles but lots of maintenance on this one. Engine has re-machined heads, new cylinders, new pistons, new lifters, relatively new camshaft. Front and rear brake calipers have been rebuilt with new pistons and pads. Brake lines have all been replaced with steel braided cable. Front and rear brake master cylinders have both been rebuilt. Beautiful repaint but missing the pinstripes. For sale in Seattle area on Craigslist.

1983 BMW R65 - $4,500
Low miles on this mid 80’s airhead! The seller notes the bike is current on maintenance (new tires!) but also notes the bike needs a fork seal. Perhaps there is some wiggle room on the price based on this. Looks very clean and these bikes don’t need much other than valve adjustments and regular oil changes. For sale in Sebastopol on Craigslist.
1992 BMW R100GS - $6,500
Decent mileage and appears to be very well maintained. Seller notes the bike purrs like a kitten. Tubeless before it was cool on an adventure bike and currently setup for solo touring. Complete pannier and top case set included. Would be good to touch base on head, transmissions, and drive shaft maintenance. For sale in the Gold Country on Craigslist.

1983 BMW R80RT - $3,950
Low miles and tons of service done by the owner. Looks like they took it all the way down to the crank for an inspection and fixed all the leaking seals front and rear while in there. Seems cheap for a very ready to go tourer. It’s an 80 not 100 so wont command the premium prices but the 80’s are smoother which is nice. For sale in Vallejo CA on Craigslist. Panniers included and currently registered and titled, no funny stuff.
