2008 KTM 990 Adventure S - $6,800
This is one of those grail bikes for me. Snarling exhaust, tons of power, excellent chassis, suspension, and reliability. These bikes were built for Dakar and got to race it a few times before they removed the larger capacity bikes from the equation. For sale in Fremont on Craigslist.
2006 KTM 640 Adventure - $3,500
Cheap adventure bike. Capable of touring or real deal Rallye. I used to have one of these and it will shake the shit out of you but has such amazing ability on and off the road. Very rare as well there aren’t many of these. For sale in Santa Cruz and will likely sell quickly.
2003 BMW F650GS Dakar 15k miles - $3,700
Low miles and lots of fun left. This was my first motorcycle (same model) and it was an amazing machine. Excellent fuel economy, light off-road capable, great wind protection and able to carry a passenger or luggage. These earlier models had the best paint scheme IMHO and easier to service valves, shim over bucket. For sale in the East Bay on Craigslist.
Cheap Adventure | 2006 KTM 950 Adventure - $4,500
You could get a low mile XR650 or KLR OR you could get this beast with Dakar heritage. Low miles and professionally maintained. The only thing that needs to be checked on these is the water pump. For sale in Duvall WA on Craigslist.
2018 KTM E Freeride - $6,800
The future of dirt bikes, now. Everybody knows the range isn’t amazing but it’s decent and if you are doing more technical riding these bikes are amazing especially to introduce someone to riding. For sale in Sacramento area on Craigslist.
2021 KTM 890 Adventure Rally - $23,500
1 of 100, will it hold it’s value like a BMW HP2 Enduro? Only time will tell. 600 miles and akro pipe and some touratech bolt ons. For sale in Arizona I believe but posted in Denver on Craigslist. If that $ makes your hair stand up and you want something more budget friendly with all the pedigree and likely just as capable (+ carbs), this clean KTM 950 Adventure listed recently on Craigslist in Oakland.
2007 BMW G650 xChallenge - $4,750
Low miles on this lightweight (for BMW’s) 650 Rotax. Their lightest dual sport and having owned one it felt great on and off road. They get excellent fuel economy and would need a small windscreen for touring. Looks to be mostly stock other than the mirrors which are a necessary upgrade. Other than that keep the shock pumped up and it’s a great machine. For sale in LA on Craigslist.
2008 KTM 300 XC - Street Legal - $4,600
Here we have a plated dirt bike, a rare bird. YMMV on registering but nice to have to connect trails. First year of electric start I believe. For sale in San Antonio on Craigslist.
2003 BMW F650GS Dakar - $3,850
I believe this is the last year of the over the bucket valve shim bike which makes valve adjustments a bit easier and I think the earlier graphics are nicer as well. This motor beat out the big twin racing in Dakar in it’s carburetor days. These motors are solid. For sale in Petaluma on Craigslist
2007 KTM 990 Adventure - $5,500
This 990 Adventure has a new motor, Akrapovic dual exhausts, Renazco racing seat, wow! The carb’ed models are better in my opinion but if you don’t want to mess with carbs, this is an incredible bike for the money. For sale in Flagstaff on Craigslist. Looks clean.
2008 ktm 990 adventure - $7,900
7k original miles and best of the best Renazco racing seat. These will increase in value as this chassis was raced in Dakar. These bikes will always be capable! For sale in Aurora Colorado on Craigslist.
2005-1/2 KTM 950 Adventure S - FSOT - $8,500
Some think this is the best year of the 950 adventure. This one is a better carb’ed model and the owner says it runs like a bat out of hell with the upgrades it has received to the intake, exhaust, and jetting. About every mod you can do to this bike and low miles but asking a premium price. This is a Dakar class bike ready to ride anywhere. For sale in San Francisco on Craigslist. This is one of the best bikes and motors KTM ever made.
2004 KTM 950 Adventure - $3,200
$3200 for this much bike is insane. This a Dakar capable race bike for the street and has a rebuilt bottom end as of 25k miles ago. Needs a minor repair but runs great. For sale in Oakland on Craigslist.
2004 KTM 950 Adventure - $4,500

2009 BMW 650G X Country - $4,000
I always wanted to try one of these, a less extreme version of the x-challenge which I did have without the problem prone air shock. Low miles for the Rotax 650 and way lighter than the “new” Sertao copy of the old f650gs that BMW has put out. For sale in Vacaville on Craigslist.
Submission | 1974 penton ktm 125 - $4500
Twin shock Penton tuned by KTM in the early days of KTM moto. All original exterior with new top end before it was stored. Great color and appears not to have been abused, note the bikes 932 miles on the ODO. There are some little things that need attention and owner has not had it running so needs gone through. For sale in Georgia, email: corvene@live.com for more information.
1998 KTM 640 (620) Adventure Low Miles - $3200
Basket case barn find. Some assembly required. These were very low production factory rally bikes made for Dakar. I owned a later model of this bike and it will shake the fillings out of your mouth but it was the best rally chassis I ever rode and is extremely capable off road in the right hands (not mine :) ). For sale in the East Bay on Craigslist.
